AlpWeek 2024 Report: A call for action in the Alps

The newly published report from AlpWeek 2024 highlights key discussions and strategies for ensuring a sustainable future for the Alpine region. Held in Nova Gorica/SL the event gathered over 200 participants from politics, research, non-profits, and civil society under the theme “Alps in Our Hands”.

The report summarises the results of the conference: Biodiversity, climate action and quality of life. It emphasises the need for cross-border cooperation, innovative political action and the active involvement of decision-makers in order to meet the challenges of the climate crisis and species extinction in the Alps. AlpWeek was a contribution to the implementation of the 2023-2030 Multiannual Work Programme (MAP) of the Alpine Conference.

The international event served as both a celebration of progress and a catalyst for future action, emphasizing that now is the time to turn existing knowledge into concrete measures. The report, now available online, invites stakeholders and the wider public to engage, share, and implement its insights.
